May 1, 2011 was an absolutely gorgeous day for the Walk for Hunger! This was my
second year walking and I must say today’s cloudless sky and temps in the 60s were a big improvement over last year’s 85+ temps and sticky humidity. I walked with a great team of my fellow personal chefs; together with 42,000 other happy walkers we covered a gorgeous 20 mile route from downtown Boston, through Brookline and Newton, into Watertown, Cambridge and back over the bridge into Boston. Our legs were sore (well, mine anyway) but our hearts were light; our
awesome team raised over $2700, as part of over $3.6 million overall to help feed hungry families in Massachusetts.
Project Bread is a great organization that funds food pantries – probably one right in your local community. My generous clients, friends and family helped me raise almost $1000 this year – huge thanks to you all, without your donations it’s just a long walk!
